HVAC Maintenance

Much like your automobile needs scheduled oil changes, your Heating and Cooling System need periodic maintenance. Regular maintenance will keep your system operating at peak performance levels. Here are the most important reasons why you should schedule a heating and cooling tune-up twice a year:

Peace of Mind: It’s easy to forget about how important your heating and cooling system is to your life, until it stops working. Your air conditioning system is a valuable investment in your home, and it makes sense to take care of it. Please keep in mind that most manufacturers require proof of regular maintenance to keep their warranty valid.

Extended Life Equipment: Twice-a-year maintenance is vital to helping your HVAC system go the distance. If one part of the unit strains or fails, it can cause the entire system to work harder or fail. Keeping the parts in proper working order reduces stress on the entire system. In the end, that means, fewer and less costly repairs; and a system that operates more efficiently, thereby resulting in lower energy bills.

Lower Repair Costs: Preventative maintenance means preventing or catching small problems, and providing any necessary repairs, before they grow into bigger and potentially expensive issues. We are also pleased to provide a 10% discount on parts and labor to our contract holders, if repairs are necessary.

Lower Energy Bills: A poorly maintained air conditioner must work harder to provide the same air quality and temperature, as a well maintained system. Poorly maintained units consume more energy, resulting in higher energy bills. According to the EPA, households typically spend about 17% of their yearly energy bills on cooling. It is not unusual to find your utility bill reduced by 20-30%, meaning your Preventative Maintenance Contract will pay for itself.

One thing you’ll want to keep in mind: each year your system is being used, its efficiency can drop 6-8% each year.

During the period of your contract, our technicians will visit you twice. Once to ensure that your system is ready for the demands of warm weather; and once to check that your system is ready for the coming cold weather. Our technicians will complete a 28 point checklist, over the course of two separate visits.

These are just a few of the items we will check during our visit to your home or business:

  • Check carbon monoxide emissions
  • Check gas valve, lines and connections for leaks
  • Check burners and heat exchanges
  • Inspect visible ductwork and flue pipe for leaks
  • Inspect crankcase heater
  • Inspect unit wiring and electrical disconnect
  • Inspect ignition system and assembly
  • Check and calibrate the thermostat
  • Check and flush the condensate drains
  • Check refrigerant levels
  • Inspect the contactors
  • Inspect the capacitors
  • Clean the coils
  • Check the compressor

We think that you will agree that while homeowners will always be confronted by expenses, this does not mean that you can afford to sacrifice the needed maintenance of your air conditioning equipment, because they seem to be working well. It is so important to treat preventive maintenance as an investment that will provide your family or business, both convenience and comfort, and spare you unnecessary expense.
